SMS Phishing Scams

25 October, 2025

💡 Member Alert
We want to alert our members to an active smishing (SMS phishing) campaign targeting credit union members across Ireland. SMS Phishing is a type of scam where criminals send fake text messages to trick individuals into revealing personal or financial information, such as passwords, account details etc. These scams often appear to come from legitimate companies, like Credit Unions, banking institutions or delivery services.   In this particular instance fraudsters are sending text messages that appear to come from your Credit Union. These messages often:

* Urge you to call a mobile number in relation to your account
* Include links to fake websites
* Use the Credit Unions name to make the message look genuine.

⚠️ Please Remember:
Inspire Credit Union will never ask you to share sensitive account information by text message
-Do not click on any links in suspicious texts
-Do not call the phone numbers provided in these messages
-Delete the message immediately and report to your local gardai.

Your security is our priority. Stay vigilant.
From all the Inspire Credit Union Team
